BMW Z4

The newest addition to the BMW Z4 series has surpassed the older models in perks and style.  Cool is a given for this roadster, but one of the highlights of the newest model is the lightweight retractable aluminum hardtop which stows quickly and neatly into the boot.

A 6-cylinder petrol engine with 6-speed manual transmission, the Z4 zips from 0-62 in about 5 seconds in the new 35i due its twin turbo.  Top speeds can reach 155mph in this series while handling with exceptional agility and smoothness.  The lines on the Z4 are not only eye-candy for the roadster lover, but provide the aerodynamics that result in a truly supple feel in such a sporty and slick ride.

Fuel economy and environmental impact are honorable for the Z4.  It is constructed with lightweight materials and employs stop-start technology and brake energy regeneration, all of which improve fuel economy.  Fuel consumption is reported at around 31mpg with CO2 emissions around 200g/km. more

BMW M3

The BMW M3 takes the outstanding qualities of the 3-series and brings them to a level unmatched amongst midsize performance cars.  The M3 is offered in a saloon, a coupe, and a convertible with retractable hard-top.

The BMW M3 models operate on a V-8 petrol engine with 6-speed manual transmission with the option of an M double-clutch.  BMW lists acceleration times no less than 5 seconds 0-62 in all models with top speeds reaching 155 mph.

Fuel economy is acceptable and environmental impact is tolerable for the M3.  All vehicles are constructed with lightweight materials and brake energy regeneration, both of which improve fuel economy.  Fuel mileage at approximately 22mpg is notable with CO2 emissions around 290g/km, which is pretty nice for purring V-8. more

BMW X3

The BMW X3 is the company’s humble middle child of the X-series.  The X3 is a mid-size SUV and offered in three trims to buyers. 

The BMW X3 operates on a 4-cylinder diesel engine with 6-speed manual transmission, offering both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive.  BMW lists acceleration times at 6.4 seconds 0-62 in the 35d to 10.3 seconds 0-62 in the 18d, with a top speed of 121-128mph.

Fuel economy and environmental impact are decent for the X3.  It is constructed with lightweight materials which can improve fuel economy.  Fuel consumption averages 43mpg with CO2 emissions as low as 165g/km, securing the BMW X3 nicely into our going-green society. more

BMW X1

Compact, cute, diesel, all-wheel drive, all topped off with an infamous name and the BMW X1 is born. 

The BMW X1 operates on a 4-cylinder turbo engine with 6-speed manual transmission, offering both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive.  BMW lists acceleration time at 9.2 seconds 0-62 with a top speed of 124mph. 

Fuel economy and environmental impact are excellent for the X1.  It is constructed with lightweight materials and employs stop-start technology and brake energy regeneration, all of which improve fuel economy.  Fuel consumption is reported at 54mpg with CO2 emissions as low as 136g/km.  For an SUV, these numbers are notable and no surprise given the BMW name. more
